{"id":7908,"date":"2016-09-17T21:49:15","date_gmt":"2016-09-17T19:49:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cerranobike.it\/labruzzo-mountain-bike-castello-salle-roccacaramanico\/"},"modified":"2026-10-06T20:43:14","modified_gmt":"2026-10-06T18:43:14","slug":"labruzzo-mountain-bike-castello-salle-roccacaramanico","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cerranobike.it\/en\/labruzzo-mountain-bike-castello-salle-roccacaramanico\/","title":{"rendered":"L\u2019Abruzzo in Mountain Bike: \u201cIl Castello di Salle e Roccacaramanico\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Escursione in Mountain Bike nell&#8217;alta valle dell&#8217;Orta alla scoperta di Salle Vecchia, del suo Castello e del ex paese &#8220;fantasma&#8221; ora &#8220;Mereviglia Italiana&#8221;, Roccacaramanico.<\/h2>\n<p>L\u2019escursione in Mountain Bike organizzata sabato 17 settembre 2016 ci ha condotti alla scoperta dell\u2019alta valle del fiume Orta, un affascinante territorio montano tra i massicci della Majella e del Morrone, due tra le pi\u00f9 alte montagne dell\u2019Appennino abruzzese.<br \/>\nPartiti in MTB dalle porte di Caramanico , piccolo ma suggestivo borgo medievale famoso per le sue Terme gi\u00e0 dal lontano 1576, si \u00e8 attraversato la frazione di San Tommaso e dopo aver superato l\u2019impressionante ponte sul fiume Orta dove negli anni \u201980 e \u201990 si praticava il \u201cjumping\u201d si \u00e8 giunti al paese di Salle.<br \/>\nSalle, situato ai piedi del Morrone, fu costruito dopo il 1915 anno in cui un terremoto danneggi\u00f2 gravemente il nucleo storico del paese, oggi chiamato Salle Vecchia, che rimase poi abbandonato.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1431\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1431\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/cerranobike.local\/wp-content\/uploads\/Tra-i-ruderi-di-Salle-Vecch.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1431 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/cerranobike.local\/wp-content\/uploads\/Tra-i-ruderi-di-Salle-Vecch-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"tra-i-ruderi-di-salle-vecch\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1431\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Tra i ruderi di Salle Vecchia<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Il nostro percorso ciclistico continua proprio in direzione di Salle Vecchia dove oltre ai ruderi del centro storico \u00e8 presente un castello, il Castello di Salle, originario del secolo XI che domina dall\u2019alto tutta la valle dell\u2019Orta.<br \/>\nIl castello ancora oggi \u00e8 di propriet\u00e0 della famiglia Di Genova a cui appartiene dal 1646, \u00e8 possibile visitare il museo allestito nel suo interno e organizzare a richiesta pranzi e banchetti.<br \/>\nLa strada, diventata ormai sterrata, inizia a salire verso il Morrone, si aprono ambi e suggestivi paesaggi dominati dalla possente Majella mentre in lontananza si scorge Pescara e il mare Adriatico.<br \/>\nLasciata la carrareccia si percorre un bellissimo sentiero a \u201cmezza costa\u201d sul lato sud del Morrone che tra boschi e radure conduce all\u2019antico borgo di Roccacaramanico, frazione di S. Eufemia, situato su una rupe sotto gli \u201cocchi\u201d della Majella.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1433\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1433\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/cerranobike.local\/wp-content\/uploads\/Roccacaramanico.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1433 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/cerranobike.local\/wp-content\/uploads\/Roccacaramanico-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"roccacaramanico\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1433\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Roccacaramanico<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Roccacaramanico, un paese \u201cfantasma\u201d fino agli anni \u201980, balz\u00f2 agli onori della cronaca dopo che un programma televisivo nazionale intervist\u00f2 l\u2019unica abitante presente, l\u2019anziana Angiolina.<br \/>\nOra il borgo \u00e8 tornato a nuova vita, i vecchi ruderi sono stati ristrutturati e Roccacaramanico nel 2012 \u00e8 stata nominata \u201cMeraviglia Italiana\u201d.<br \/>\nLasciandoci il borgo alle nostre spalle, ripresa la strada asfalta e riattraversato il fiume Orta, si fa ritorno al punto di partenza passando per i paesi di S.
